In the spirit of togetherness, reflection, and compassion during the holy month of Ramadan, the Bangladeshi Marine Community in Singapore (BMCS) organized a special Iftar Gathering on 9 March 2025 at the Bukit Batok Civil Service Club. This event was among the first major initiatives undertaken by the newly assumed Management Council and successfully set a positive and engaging tone for the year.
The gathering was attended by BMCS members, their families, newly appointed Group Representatives, former BMCS Presidents, and senior members of the community. The event provided a welcoming and inclusive platform for interaction, fostering unity and strengthening relationships among both long-standing and newly joined members.
The Iftar was thoughtfully arranged across the Clover Room, Jasmine Room, Orchid Room, and the Foyer, ensuring a comfortable and family-friendly environment. The presence of members’ families added warmth to the occasion and reinforced BMCS’s commitment to inclusive, family-oriented community engagement.
As part of the program, Mar Engr. Murtaza Reza delivered a meaningful discussion on the importance and values of Ramadan, highlighting themes of patience, self-discipline, compassion, and social responsibility. His reflections resonated strongly with attendees and enriched the spiritual dimension of the evening.
The Doa was conducted by Mar Engr. Nurul Karim, who led the congregation in prayers seeking peace, blessings, and well-being for the community and its members. The session was moderated by Mar Engr. Tanjilur Rahman, whose calm and organized facilitation ensured the smooth flow of the program.
Beyond its religious significance, the gathering also provided an opportunity for informal dialogue and exchange of ideas. Members shared constructive feedback and suggestions on BMCS activities and future initiatives, contributing valuable insights for the Management Council’s planning.
The Management Council sincerely thanks all speakers, moderators, volunteers, and participants whose contributions made the Iftar Gathering both meaningful and memorable. The event stood as a powerful reminder of unity, shared values, and the enduring spirit of togetherness within the BMCS community.
